Chat

In the lobby before the game starts, you can chat with other players in the lobby.

[LOBBY] <player>: <message>

Players outside your game will not be able to see your chat.

Chat messages will be blocked once the game has started.

Dead players can chat freely in all phases of the game.

Chat messages will only be visible to other dead players.

[GHOST] <player>: <message>

During a meeting, you can chat with all other players.

[MEETING] <player>: <message>

Dead players will also be able to see your messages.

Imposters can chat with other imposters if the settings (default) allow it.

To send a message, use the /impostermsg or /im command followed by your message.

[IMPOSTER] <player>: <message>

All imposters, including dead ones, will see your message.

As a dead imposter, you cannot use the /impostermsg command.

Minecraft includes some commands that allow you to send messages to other players:

  • /tell
  • /msg
  • /w
  • /me

For fair-play reasons, all of these commands are disabled by default.

msg is the primary command, while tell and w are aliases.

This command allows you to send a message to a specific player.

The command is blocked if any of the following conditions are met:

  1. The sender is in a game.
  2. One of the target players is in a game.

The command is allowed if the sender and the target are the same player.

If the sender is an imposter and the target player is also an imposter, the sender will receive a message saying them to use the /impostermsg command instead.

The /me command sends a message to all other players in the format * <player> <message>.

This command is also blocked if the sender is currently in a game.

You can allow unrestricted messaging between players by turning off the chat restriction in the settings menu.

To disable the restriction:

  1. Open the settings menu using /au settings
  2. Select the book icon.
  3. Toggle the Disable Messages Restriction option.
